If the setting was something different like scary and dark then it would be a very deep story and not so light toned. The setting always has a big impact on the story. In this case the setting effects the story in a light-toned positive way. She is living in a safe healthy environment with her new family that she loves and her whole family loves her and everyone is happy. The setting effects the story in a happy way.
