Summarize the first half of the book in 1-3 paragraphs.

Kyla began her new life with her new family, and school, since she has been slated.

When she leaves the hospital from being slated, she is sent home with a new family. She is introduced to her Mom, Dad, and her older sister Amy, and not long after, introduced to Amy’s friends. A few days after that, she is sent to her new school, where Nurse Penny holds a group for other kids who are slated.

Choose a paragraph or sentence from the book that is funny, puzzling, or important to the book, and explain why.

"And here I am. Free from my Levo."
This sentence of dialogue is important because, it is one of the only lines that really acknowledge her getting her Levo off. I also think that it is a very important line of dialogue, because it is one of the only lines that really mark an important plot point in the book.
green trees, blue sky, white clouds. I am using this one because she had to think about it so her levo didn't go down and she didn't go brain dead. She used this to calm her down too.
Alex Moore- When Kyla finds out that mac has an illegal computer that has a website about missing children. This is important because She finds a picture on the missing website about a little girl named Lucy Connor and that picture turns out to be her before she was slated 6 years ago when she was 6.

Alex Moore- Slated is a new beginning, a fresh start in life for the past criminals, or is it. That is basically what Kyla is trying to figure out.  In the beginning of the book Kyla comes home from the hospital from being slated. She has terrible nightmares that can drop her levels down to 1.0 and that is basically brain dead so that’s bad, but why didn't she get knocked out or go brain dead? Kyla is different and she always will be different than the other slated that is one of the first things she figured out after she started to get out of that hospital and to see the real world. Kyla is just starting to warm up to her family and her new mom and 19 year old sister, Amy, are always fussing over her.
At this point all Kyla wants to do is start school, but they nurses won’t let her until she starts to get more adjusted. She is forced to start group were slated people like her are adjusting to their own families. That’s when she meets ben. Ben is a handsome young boy and she likes him just by looking at him. Kyla later ends up meeting ben at the circus where Kyla went with mom and Amy. She and ben end up bonding and becoming friends over the strangest things.
Ok. Ben had this friend named Tori. She was always following her around and insisting on doing things with him. She was kind of a Debby downer to other people and not the nicest person Kyla has ever met. But soon after Ben and Kyla meet Tori goes missing. Ben and Kyla want to know what’s up, but in the mean time Kyla is struggling to get along with school because much people at the school she just started don't like slated people that much and tries to avoid them. Kyla soon starts track With ben and they become friends and they are trying to figure out the mystery of Tori gone missing. That is half way through the book and so far it is really good.

What is the most interesting part of the story, and why?

What is the most important or interesting part of the story and why?

The most interesting part of the book is how the world works. I find the deal of some people being slated, and some people not, who ‘train’ those slated people, interesting. The reason I say this, is because people who are slated, are sent to a new place, a new family, and a new life. The part about Kyla, someone who was slated, starting his or her life over, is a compelling start to be a plot of a book.

But the most interesting part has to be how Kyla can halfway remember her past life, and her nightmares feature cut scenes of her past life.
